Junjie Su

Dr. Junjie Su is an Associate Professor at the Cultural Development Institute of Yunnan University, Kunming, China.

Dr. Su is an Expert Member of the International Committee of Intangible Cultural Heritage of ICOMOS, and an invited Reviewer of UNESCO’s “2003 Convention Research Bibliography” Project.

His research interests concern intangible cultural heritage, heritage tourism, World Heritage, museum and arts management, and cultural industries.

Dr. Su published on authenticity, commodification, and tourism management of cultural heritage, and he proposed the concept of “Subjective Authenticity” of intangible cultural heritage.

Since 2019, Dr. Su has been a Principal Investigator of the China National Social Sciences Fund Project New Ideas and Methods in the Protection and Uses of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Contemporary China.

Recent publications appeared in the International Journal of Heritage Studies and Journal of Tourism and Cultural Change.
